SEPTEMBER 2010

Welcome to our first e-newsletter!

We’re well into the silly season already – a very busy period for the event industry.

A number of exciting event projects are currently keeping us on our toes, including our second Paspaley Polo in the City, Minter Ellison’s much anticipated client Christmas event, the Test Dinner for the South Australian Cricket Association, ongoing events for the Adelaide Central Market and Advertiser Sunday Mail Foundation, the Gibaran Learning Group graduation, an exciting new Unley fashion event for the Adelaide Fashion Festival and of course the Unley Gourmet Gala to celebrate the Tour Down Under in January next year.

We hope you enjoy reading about a selection of our events from the first half of the year.

Look forward to catching up soon.

Cheers

Unley Gourmet Gala

If you didn’t make it to the Unley Gourmet Gala food, wine and fashion festival in January this year, make sure you put 19 January in your diary for 2011!

Working with the team at the City of Unley, we created heaven on earth for foodies and fashion lovers, staging cooking demonstrations with Gabriel Gate and Salvatore Pepe, fashion parades and setting up food and wine stalls throughout the paved, vine leaf-lined strip of King William Road.

And there was plenty to entertain families, including artwork with Little Picassos and world-class bike stunts.

The vibe was completed with the sounds of some of Adelaide’s best bands filling the air on a balmy January evening.

Keito Events also sourced sponsorship for the event and was praised for delivering a very successful event, overcoming significant logistical challenges.

St Clair Sales Centre Launch

On Sunday 18 April we brought the brand new St Clair development sales centre to life with a mini ‘lifestyle expo’ for invited guests and the public.

We worked closely with iconic western suburbs restaurant – Vietnam – and local patisserie – Cotto – to provide a taste of life in Woodville.

We then brought in some of the best wineries in the Adelaide Hills to provide wine tastings, as well as Carclew artists and a gardening expert to interact with guests.

Yoga and tai chi demonstrations provided a calming effect while guests enjoyed jazz music, champagne and coffee.

But the relaxing atmosphere didn’t dull the excitement of the land release, with many people inquiring/signing up for a block on the day; a great result for developers Urban Pacific and AV Jennings.

Adelaide Central Market

Our love for the best market in the world has translated into some great experiences for food and wine lovers and ‘junior masterchefs’!

We have worked closely with the Hilton to stage “Music @ the Market” involving cooking to live music and wine tasting.

We also worked with Executive Chef Dennis Leslie and his team to provide a tuna cutting and cooking demonstration involving tastings on a busy Saturday morning.

We have since been involving a variety of wineries, producers and jazz musicians in regular Fridays at the Market and Saturday morning tastings.

And the junior masterchefs of Adelaide have been inspired by Rosa Matto’s culinary skills, learning to make pasta and pizza over the April and July school holidays.

We can’t wait to keep bringing food experiences into the market throughout the year!

Famous Male Faces - ASMF

We now have the privilege of working with Angela Condous, Patron of the Advertiser Sunday Mail Foundation (ASMF), to stage the various ASMF events throughout the year.

Our first was the Famous Faces lunch at the Hilton for around 450 guests.

The lunch, hosted by Channel Ten’s Mark Aiston, featured a fashion parade produced by Jane Morley, a performance by singer David Harris, an appearance by Karl Stefanovic, and of course, more than 40 of Adelaide's 'famous male faces' were presented on stage.

Ernst & Young - End of Financial Year Dinner

When we were asked to develop a theme for the Ernst and Young’s End of Financial Year dinner, we knew we needed something that would create an entertaining video segment, traditionally compiled by the social club every year.

So Blues Brothers it was – jazz club vibe, great music by the Mike Stewart band, slick lighting and a great dress up opportunity!

We were very pleased to see lots of pork pie hats, skinny ties and black glasses both on stage and among the guests.

The addition of a DJ to finish the night and get everyone on the dance floor was a great success, thanks to Tim BOS O’Brien. And thanks to the great team at Novatech Creative Event Technology for helping to create such a successful event.

George Gross Harry Who Spring/Summer Collection - ASMF

Staging a cocktail party to launch George Gross Harry Who’s Spring Summer Collection has certainly been a highlight of the year so far.

Not to mention stage managing performances by Lucy Durack from “Wicked” the musical and Jon Stevens.

And we were lucky enough to have our good friend Josh Flinn, the new model mentor on Australia’s Next Top Model, fly over from Sydney for the event.

Hosted by the fabulous Kelly Nestor, more than 400 people filled the Entertainment Centre Theatre for pre-drinks while they listened to the talented Adelaide Youth Orchestra before being treated to a night of spectacular entertainment.

DJ Paul Gurry kept the after party going, completing what was a fantastic night.
