APRIL 2014

Hi

With many Adelaide companies and organisations celebrating a big birthday this year, the Keito Events team has been busy planning some very special celebrations. In this issue we have shared some photos of a foyer display we managed for Santos, in celebration of their 60 year milestone.

With the summer months gone, we are spending many hours planning gala dinners, fundraising lunches and other corporate events occurring throughout the year, including some great charity events for the Advertiser Sunday Mail Foundation, Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation and the Santos Mid Winter Charity Ball.

This weekend will see us event managing “Sweet Streets” as part of Tasting Australia – a dessert and cocktail event in Leigh and Peel Streets on Saturday night, 3 May, from 7pm to midnight. We hope you will join us for a night of indulgence!

All the best for the next few months.

Cheers

  Kate Abraham

Riverbank Footbridge Opens During Ashes

To commemorate the first use of the footbridge during the Ashes, Keito Events was engaged to event manage the celebrations. An SA brand was used for the official launch involving the Premier and Ministers, with the launch featured on the Today Show weather segment.

The festivities involved a ‘first footbridge run’, special guests, breakfast by precinct partners, music and themeing of the area.

Riverbank Blue Hive Activations

Keito Events was engaged to activate the “Blue Hive” structure on the Riverbank promenade near the footbridge during the Ashes.

Working with the Adelaide Convention Centre, Intercontinental and Adelaide Festival Centre, the Blue Hive became a bar, with Keito Events responsible for all entertainment, lighting, themeing and logistics.

The activation was a great success with the family-friendly area busy both day and night.

English And Aussie Bars At The Ashes

Keito Events created English and Aussie themed bars at Adelaide Oval during the Ashes, using props and furniture from various suppliers to create an authentic and vibrant bar area.

Both areas were a great success with cricket-goers enjoying the atmosphere created by both the English and Aussie bar areas over the 5 days of cricket.

Torrens University Open Day

We were engaged by Torrens University to create and manage an open day at their Victoria Square campus in December.

Working closely with the marketing and PR team, we developed a creative concept for engaging students and encouraging attendance, including giveaways, activities, Torrens University branding and a food and beverage offering from creative and iconic SA businesses.

Unley Gourmet Gala 2014

We managed the Unley Gourmet Gala for the 6th time earlier this year as part of the Santos Tour Down Under week of cycling and celebrations.

Featuring fashion parades,  a wine bar, cooking demonstrations by Marion Grasby and multiple music stages, the event proved again to be a big success, attracting more than 20,000 people.

Santos Tour Down Under Bike Village

Keito Events worked with Santos to create a new concept for their marquee in the Tour Down Under Bike Expo. The space creatively reflected a theme of natural energy with a recharge station, offering ways to recharge your phone, your thirst and your body.

The elements included a phone recharge bar, bicycle operated smoothies, and a massage area. People were also able to take home a commemorative race-themed photo. The interactive space proved a great success for Santos!.

Santos Tour Down Under Activations

The 2014 Santos Tour Down Under encompassed many creative changes for Santos! This year they transformed their large iconic shade marquee into an energy dome with activities to educate the general public on natural energy.

Keito Events project managed the marquee fit out and activities, which included a natural energy science demonstration by the Surfing Scientist – Rueben Meerman, a Santos energy quiz with reference to informational panels, a competition to generate the highest amount of energy (watts) on the Santos Watt Bike, and kids science activities. A video on the science of cycling was also produced and played in the marquee.

In addition to all the activities, the natural energy theme was extended to our catering selections, we had organic smoothies by Smooth Revolution, vegie burgers by Veggie Velo and organic popsicles by Mama Rosa’s popsicles. This space generated a high volume of activity which delivered a very successful experience and result for Santos.

Sunday Sessions @ The Blue Hive

We activated the Blue Hive on the Riverbank over six weeks in January and February through “Sunday Sessions” – a collection of food and wine themed events. Collaborating with the team at the Adelaide Food and Wine Festival, the events featured various iconic wineries, breweries, chefs and producers.

There was something for kids, water misters to help weather the 40+ degree days and DJs every Sunday, creating a great atmosphere on the Riverbank that was enjoyed by a great crowd across the six weekends.

Noodle Nights + Markets @ The Blue Hive

As part of the activation of the Blue Hive at the Riverbank Promenade, Keito Events worked with DPTI and the Goodwood Arthouse Marketplace to put on the Friday Noodle Nights + Markets. This series of events ran over 4 consecutive Friday nights, featuring a different local Asian noodle vendor each night, live music, local crafts and artworks and a licensed bar. The Friday Noodle Nights + Markets saw many people rediscover this part of the city and demonstrated how the Blue Hive space could be used to its potential

AIB Information Sessions

Over the month of February, Keito Events project managed another road show of events for the Australian Institute of Business. The events held were information sessions in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, and Keito Events managed the venue management, event logistics and produced an event manual with run sheets for AIB staff to refer to over the duration of the events. All of these elements were managed and delivered while based in Adelaide with a high level of communication with each of the interstate suppliers.

Santos Celebrates 60 Years

Keito Events worked with Traffic Creative and Michels Warren to develop a foyer display in the Adelaide office to commemorate 60 years of Santos.

Staff left on Monday evening and returned on Tuesday morning to see the foyer totally transformed with commemorative hanging banners, a chalk display (that subsequently changed weekly to represent each decade over six weeks) and an illuminated 60 years anniversary structure.

The foyer transformation was captured by time-lapse photography and turned into a short video and the evolving chalk wall was used for staff photos during the first week.

In addition to project managing the foyer display, Keito Events arranged for hundreds of “Santos 60 years” cupcakes to be delivered to staff in various offices across Australia to celebrate the occasion
